Hongkeng Tulou Cluster (UNESCO World Heritage)  is the most celebrated Tulou group in Yongding, featuring a mix of round and square rammed-earth buildings scattered along mountain valleys. These giant multi-story earthen structures were constructed centuries ago by the Hakka people. Thick earth walls defend against bandits, while the interior holds shared courtyards, wells and dozens of family households under one roof. The iconic “Earth Building King” Zhencheng Tower sits here, representing the peak of Hakka architectural wisdom.

Venture deeper into the mountainous Hakka region today. Visit the stunning Chuxi Tulou cluster tucked in quiet valleys, then head to terraced tea farms to discover Fujian’s time-honored tea culture.

Chuxi Tulou Cluster (UNESCO World Heritage) Nestled in a secluded mountain valley, Chuxi preserves a spectacular group of large circular Tulou. Built between the Ming and Qing dynasties, these grand earthen fortresses retain original wooden frames, ancient ancestral halls and primitive living layouts. Far less crowded than Hongkeng, it offers a peaceful glimpse of untouched Hakka rural life and incredible photo opportunities.

Yongding Mountain Tea Plantation Rolling green tea terraces blanket the mountain slopes surrounding Tulou villages. Guided by local tea farmers, you walk through rows of tea bushes, learn traditional hand-plucking techniques and witness the ancient process of withering, rolling and drying tea leaves. End the visit with a soothing cup of freshly brewed local oolong amid the mountain breeze.

Spend your final morning wandering a quiet ancient Hakka village, admire old ancestral halls and stone alleyways, before your private transfer for departure.
